Hot Comics for October 10, 2018
What are the Hot Comics Releasing this Week?
After a busy, shut-up-and-take-my-money week, this week is more geared towards the readers. The Walking Dead blind bags will be the hot ticket item with a few promising new series, a few good covers and a week of new arcs.
Walking Dead Blind Bags
The hottest item this week will be the Walking Dead 15th Anniversary blind bags. Each issue comes with four different cover treatments and five select issues will have unannounced 1:100 secret variants. The ratios for the other covers are as follows:
Color: 50% chance
Color Virgin: 25% chance
Black & White: 15% chance
Black & White Virgin: 10% chance
Cursed Comics Cavalcade #1
An entertaining DC-horror-series gets you ready for the Halloween season.
The much-anticipated new video game version of Spider-Man makes his debut as well as several other new characters. This’ll be worth picking up and hanging onto, even if you’re not interested in the book.
There’re some muddied rumblings of a new character. That, with the creative team and a few quality covers are worth taking a risk on this if you weren’t already going to pick it up. Also look for the surprise variant tongue covers.
What If Punisher #1
This one borders on a must-have. The first couple of What If…? series debuted last week with a thud. But there’s a lot of early interest in this issue.
Infinite Dark #1
A new Image series has a great premise and definitely worth picking up.
Red Hood and The Outlaws #27
A game changing issue for Jason Todd is a must read for Red Hood fans.
Supergirl #23 Foil Cover
Suicide Squad #47 (Mattina Variant)
Wonder Woman #56 (Cover B Jenny Frison)
Immortal Hulk #7 (Maxx Lim Marvel Battle Lines Variant)
Avengers #9 (Jong Ju Kim Marvel Battle Lines Variant)
Catwoman #4 (Artgerm Variant)
Could be Cool
Murder Falcon #1
It looks silly, but has a chance to be good. Daniel Warren Johnson, the creator of Extremity, is the biggest reason I’ll give this a shot.
The Last Space Race #1
I’m torn on the premise, but it seems to have depth with potential to be a really good series. The creator, Peter Calloway, has written for some pretty good tv shows, so I’m intrigued what he’ll bring to the series.
X-Men Black Mojo #1
I don’t have high hopes for this issue especially after with last week’s disappointing Magneto issue. I’m not really even sure what the point of these Black issues are. But, it’s an X-Men title and J Scott Campbell does the cover art for it, so it’s probably worth a pick up.
