Hot Comics for November 07, 2018
What are the Hot Comics Releasing this Week?
There’s no can’t miss comics this week that’ll be easy flips, but there are several excellent covers (including 5 Mattina’s!) that won’t break the bank and a couple of rebooted series that look excellent. It’s definitely a great week to get into something new.
Probably the best bet for a good ROI is Antarctic Press’s new series, Punchline. The comic is sold out and likely a low print run, so I’d pick this up if you can get it at cover price. I also really like the artwork and am always hopeful for a successful superhero series outside of the big-2.
Marvel Knights 20th #1 (Of 6)
The original series was one of the best in Marvel’s history. Having Donny Cates oversee the return definitely solidifies this as a must-have this week. There’re a few solid covers, but my favorite is the regular, Geoff Shaw cover.
Green Lantern #1
I’ve never been a big Green Lantern fan, but I’m excited for this relaunch. Writer Grant Morrison returns to create the new series that offers a lot of promise. The Frank Quitely variant the best cover offered and it shouldn’t cost more than cover price.
Outer Darkness #1
The new Image series, Outer Darkness is a sci-fi and horror series with potential for long term success. It’s likely going to be a solid read more than anything that’ll ever break cover price, but it’s definitely worth a try. There’s a variant that many have posted around $15-20. If you really want this cover, wait a week and it’ll be available for under cover price.
Last Siege #6 (of 8)
I’ll call for it again as I love this series. It’s not too late to catch up before the series ends.
Deathstroke #37 (Cover B Francesco Mattina)
Batman #58 (Cover B Francesco Mattina)
Deadpool #6 (Cover A Nic Klein)
Justice League #11 (Mattina Variant)
Champions #26 (Liefeld Uncanny X-Men Variant)
X-Men Red #10 (Regular Frision Variant)
Grimm Fairy Tales #23 (Cover C – Burns)
Spawn #291 (Cover A Mattina)
Could be Cool
Empty Man #1
Elite horror writer Cullen Bunn’s newest series looks like it definitely has potential for a solid series.
Asgardians of the Galaxy #3
Another Cullen Bunn series that I’m totally digging. I love the collection of characters, the story’s great and solid artwork. There’re no A-list characters so it’s not getting the attention it deserves and will most likely line $1 bins in a few months, but it’s worth the read.
Wicked & Divine Funnies #1
Meh, I love the series, but I’m not too sure on this one-shot. I’ll give it a shot as a fan of the series, but I’m expecting to be disappointed.
