Hot Comics for January 9, 2019

What are the Hot Comics Releasing this Week?

After a holiday hiatus, we’re back breaking down the biggest comics releasing this week.

What’s Hot

Young Justice #1

Bendis takes on another new series with Young Justice. The roster is made up of Superboy, Wonder Girl, Robin, Impulse, Amethyst. Also includes the first appearances of both Teen Lantern and Jinny Hex (who technically first appeared in an issue of one of the Walmart DC Comics). There’re eight different covers for this, all of which are really good.

Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1

Spider-Man is the hottest ticket out there right now and we get (another) new series for the web-slinger!

Captain Marvel #1

Captain Marvel is another hot property as fans load up on everything Danvers prior to March’s blockbuster. There’s plenty of great, affordable variants for this as well.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man #2

A new villain will debut in MM’s latest series. Even if the villain’s a dud, the series kicked off pretty strongly.

The Null Faeries #1

Action Lab’s newest series is sold out and looks hot!

Must Read

Web of Venom Unleashed #1

Much like his counterpart Spider-Man, Venom is getting another new series. Venom artist, Ryan Stegman, takes his turn writing this series that “journey from the symbiote’s perspective through Eddie’s old haunts in San Francisco.”

Star Wars: Age of Republic – Jango Fett #1

The Fett’s are the Venom of the Star Wars realm. The Age of Republic series hasn’t had great success on the secondary market, likely because of an oversaturated market, but it’s been well developed and some solid variants.

Savants #1 (of 5)

Gary Reed’s final series is released by Source Point Press.

Blazing Covers

Harley Quinn #57 (Cover B Julian Totino Tedesco)

Batman #62 (Cover B Frank Miller)

X-23 #8

Green Arrow #48 (Cover B Neal Adams)

Martian Manhunter #2 (Of 12)(Cover B Joshua Middleton)

Could be Cool

Turok #1

Turok’s a cool character, but the stories are hit or miss. I’ll check this one out.

Stabbity Ever After #1

This will be worth a pickup. We’ll see how good it is.

Gunning for Hits #1

I’m not sure if this new series’ description is simply lame, or just not for me, but I’m simply ‘meh’ on it.
